Sistemas agroforestales: análisis y diseño de propuestas orientadas al secano de las comunas de Navidad y La Estrella. Programa PRODECOP-SECANOLibroEl objetivo central de este estudio se orientó al diseño de una propuesta agroforestal en la cual se configuraron modelos y esquemas productivos acorde a las condiciones fisiográficas y socioeconómicas de la zona, estructurando sistemas forestales puros o mixtos, sistemas silvopastorales, sistemas silvoagrícolas y sistemas de protección. En una etapa posterior al diseño, se realizó un ajuste predial en función de las condiciones locales de cada propietario involucrado en el programa, para finalmente dar inicio al programa de forestación. Con el propósito de hacer extensivo los resultados de esta iniciativa a profesionales, técnicos y agricultores involucrados en la problemática del desarrollo silvoagropecuario de zonas áridas y semiáridas, se elabora el presente documento con el fin de que sea utilizado como guía de apoyo a la toma de decisiones respecto del establecimiento y manejo de sistemas agroforestales en ecosistemas de secano. También genera beneficios indirectos, como son el ayudar a la recuperación del suelo, a detener la erosión, a limpiar las fuentes de agua, y a mejorar la productividad gracias a la descomposición de la hojarasca, entre otras utilidades. Potencial forestal campesino e indígena de ChileLibroEl presente estudio identifica el potencial forestal del sector campesino en Chile, según localización geográfica y aspectos culturales y productivos. Además, cuantifica la población y superficies por grupos de personas (pequeños propietarios agrícolas y forestales, comunidades étnicas y comunidades históricas) y se identifica tanto a las especies como a las alternativas de forestación susceptibles de ser incorporados a los sistemas productivos tradicionales de los grupos analizados.
