Investigación silvícola y tecnológica de berries nativos de interés comercial en Patagonia: prácticas de propagación y manejoArtículo de revistaSe percibe un gran potencial en la puesta en valor de los PFNM regionales, resultando pertinente generar nuevos conocimientos para incrementar el valor económico de los berries nativos de interés comercial y proveer información sobre su propagación, con el fin de propender a su domesticación y cultivo en la región de Aysén. En este contexto se entregan antecedentes de propagación para cuatro especies de berries nativos maqui (Aristotelia chilensis), calafate (Berberis microphylla), luma (Amomyrtus luma) y arrayán (Luma apiculata), describiéndose atributos físicos y de germinación de sus semillas, así como resultados preliminares de su propagación vegetativa a través de enraizamiento de esquejes. Se concluye que maqui puede ser multiplicado por enraizamiento, en tanto que las experiencias de germinación y propagación vegetativa en las especies restantes no resultaron exitosas. La investigación sobre murta y calafate ha ganado interés debido a sus atractivas propiedades sensoriales, así como a la tendencia mundial de encontrar nuevas frutas con beneficios potenciales para la salud. El objetivo de esta revisión fue resumir el uso potencial de murta y calafate como fuentes de nutracéuticos con respecto al conocimiento científico tradicional y actualizado.
